Looks great. Will this be a fps/adventure game? Was it all done in Unity?

Keep up the great work : )

This is an incredible project! Amazing work on the modeling, and the lighting is superb! Can’t wait to see the finished product 🙂

    awesome!

@Ronnie: First, this will be a virtual tour of the apartment with some interactions. Other scenes from the movie are planned. The purpose, for now, is just experimenting the movie atmosphere as if you were there. Yes, Unity 5 is used here.

@Richard: Rainy weather, hm yeah, you’re damn right 🙂

Man, this just took me there. Incredible!
To me, BR is the zenith of cyberpunk aesthetics. I doubt that it was ever done any better, and if so, what have I missed?

WOW MAN!!!!! This is incredible!!!! It’s like playing Doom/Quake-alike games inside Deckard’s!!!! LOVE IT!!!!! Congrats for your cumbersome work!!!!

    Looks fantastic, keep it up!

Totally amazing. I have no earthly idea how you were able to do this…beyond hours upon days upon weeks, etc.
I was in the actual set, so to be able to glide through it again some 30 years later, well like I said : amazing.
    Well done!

Is there an email list so we can be notified when the project is complete?

    Quentin Lengelé - May 3, 2015 reply

    A dedicated website is foreseen.

Great stuff, can’t wait to get inside the apartment with the Oculus! Check out my VR photogrammetry test from the same movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1f5SM-ggWY&index=3&list=PLiX6yhnGjChTK36xunNkOQtzJ40jb_kkH

All that is truly missing here is more surface grime, lots of smoke, darker shadowed corners and more colored light rays. Also out in the balcony section it does not look like he is 97 floors up. The street below looks way to close as if he is 20-30 floors up there abouts.

  • Quentin LengelĂ© - June 23, 2015 reply

You are absolutely right about the floors. I already noticed it and it will be updated.
About smokes and ray of lights, there is no such effect in that scene of the movie. It is quite hazy but not that much.
Grime on the floor is planned too.
    Thanks for the feedback.

I love this project so much! Can’t wait to try it!

I’m also a fan of light-rays coming from the window. It’s easy to add in Unity: just drop the “SunShafts” script on the Camera and tweak a few of its settings. 🙂

When the Oculus Rift comes out this is the first experience I want to try. The work so far looks great!

I am a bit confused. Is this supposed to be a recreation of the set used in the film or your speculation of what Deckard’s apartment should look like? I do not mean to be argumentative – and I am not trolling – but I have been comparing your version to what is seen in the film and for the most part this isn’t it.

  • Quentin LengelĂ© - December 21, 2015 reply

    Hi Hamilton,
Don’t forget this is a work in progress. We are still working on lighting and objects modeling… we are only 2 guys 🙂
    Cheers.

Kickstart this and make it a full game. PLEASE. I imagine you’d need to get licensing first. These videos and screenshots are a perfect pitch for that.
